The Opening ceremony of the first edition of EUSA Combat Games

The EUSA Combat Games opening ceremony will be the biggest combat multi-sport event ever held in Europe. It officially opens today with the solemn ceremony that will occur at “Bojan Stranić” Sports Hall on July 31, at 20:30, and it will be open to the public. 

 

First edition of this event covers competition in karate, taekwondo, judo and kickboxing and gathers 1300 participants from numerous European universities that will compete from 1. to 3. August for the European title in the current year. This event will be the greatest by the number of participants in the EUSA calendar this year and it will gather 404 universities from 36 different countries. 

 

The organizers of the event are European University Sports Association and Croatian Academic Sports Association in cooperation with national and European federations of these sports, while organizational partner is the City of Zagreb. All the athletes, officials and volunteers will attend the opening ceremony of the event, as same as numerous representatives from sports and political life.

 

The president of the World Karate Federation WKF, Antonio Espinós will be in the audience, as same as the president of the WAKO World kickboxing organization, Roy Baker, and Adam Roczek, the president of the European University Sports Organization EUSA. In the opening ceremony will also enjoy Krešimir Šamija, Deputy State Secretary of the SDUŠ, Dr Olivera Majić, Personal Representative and Deputy of the Major of the city of Zagreb, as well as presidents of Croatian karate, judo, taekwondo and kickboxing federations.

 

Sports venues will be Dom sportova 1 (kickboxing), Dom sportova 2 (judo), S.D. “Trešnjevka” (taekwondo) and “Bojan Stranić” Sports Hall (karate).   Zagreb2019
