Taekwondo day 3: All medals in the women's competition are awarded!

European Universities Championship in Taekwondo was successfully completed, and we got all medal winners in the women's competition. 

 

Noelia Grau Baldovi from the University of Valencia won the gold medal in the category up to 46 kg. Girl from Spain in the final match was better than her colleague from Institut de formation Masseur Kinésithérapie Serrah Gaye. In semifinals, Grau Baldovi won against Yelyzaveta Taratuta from HS Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University who finished third, and Gaye has reached finals, by defeating Farah Wael Omar Sedky Mohamed Tawfik from Rhine-Westphalia Institute of Technology Aachen who also won the bronze medal. 

 

New champion from the University of Valencia, Grau Baldovi couldn't hide happiness after winning a gold medal: „It was very good. Until finals matches were more tactically, while this was physically demanding. However, I felt good besides it was hot. And in the end, it finally paid off everything that we worked for“. 

 

Viktoriia Sobko will also remember competition in Zagreb because of winning the gold medal. Student at National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport in finals was better than Christina Schönegger from the University of Innsbruck. On third places finished Lorena Cabel Solaz from Open University of Catalonia and Dominika Hronova from The Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague. 

In category up to 62kg, the title won Jone Magdaleno Albizut from the University of Deusto. In the final match, she was better than Mariia Labuzova student at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University. At the third place ended up Natalia Moreno Garcia from Autonomous University of Barcelona, and Alina Przygoda from Federal University of Applied Administrative Sciences. 

 

Sofia Cruz brought a gold medal for the University of Minho in the category under 67kg. In final Cruz was better than Simone Abley from East Durham College with score 7:2. Bronze medals went to Emma Cacciamani student at Pantheon-Sorbonne University and Matea Kolovrat from the University of Split. 

 

After the final match, Cruz told that fights were hard: „It's my first time on European Universities Championship and it was a good experience. Organization and competition were very good, and I'm happy because of winning gold“.
