Karate Day2 - impatience for the female finals grows

The female competition started with fights at 10 a.m. The first category was Kumite under 55kg.

 

 

After the elimination round, in the final, we will watch fighters from Italy and the Czech Republic – Francesca Cavallaro and Monika Burgerova. Bronze medalists are Hana Kuklova from Slovakia and Berquet Constance from France. One more competition in the women category was played before the break. In a Kumite under 61kg category better than others were Zenira Bektaš from the University of Sarajevo and Monika Pendaroska from North Macedonia. They will face each other in a Saturday final. 

 

After the break, female competitions were continued in the afternoon. Two more categories were held – under 68kg and over 68kg. Athletes from Bosnia and Herzegovina continued with their domination and reached one more final. In a category under 68kg, Emina Brkić from the University of Sarajevo will fight against the home fighter from University of Zagreb Anita Tadić in a gold medal match. Angela Mojsovska from North Macedonia and Emma Pecirep from Italy earned a bronze medal. 

 

The last competition of the day was Kumite over 68kg. Supporters of the home team the University of Zagreb were so happy because their fighters reached another final. Lucia Lesjak has won their semi-final fight against Bosnian fighter Matea-Noah Medić  (3:2) and she will fight against Meryem Yildirim from Germany. Lora Ziller from the Austrian University of Linz earned a bronze medal, same as Oliveira Ana Rita Ferreira from Portugal.
